In the mainly maritime city that Venice used to be, a visit to the Naval History Museum is a must. Situated in a beautiful old part of what vas the Arsenal (naval shipyard), in the south-east of the Castello Sestiere, it displays many treasures coming from from Venice as well as many other parts of the world, from ancient to modern times.
