The Campanile collapsed in 1388, in 1489 and in 1511, struck by lightning or weaken by an earthquake. It collapsed once more in 1902, vertically, on its basis, without causing any damage to the surrounding buildings, and without causing any casualty. It has been rebuilt between 1902 and 1912.
