Just between Santa Lucia train station and the Ponte degli Saclzi, the Scalzi Church (or Santa Maria di Nazareth) offers its beautiful baroque facade to tourists just arriving in Venice by the Grand Canal. It was built between 1656 and 1672 by the architect Baldassare Longhena, with Giuseppe Sardi for the façade.
