Heart of the Dorsoduro, the Rio di San Trovaso crosses the Sestiere from the wide Zattere to the Grand Canal. It's a busy way most of the day. The Rio San Trovaso is famous for its surviving gondolas workshop that you see in the middle of the picture, just under the white San Trovaso Church.
