About this photo...
In this island, that the poet Jean Cocteau called the "Crazy rainbow", things seem as small as they are colourful : narrow canals, tiny houses, little bridges... Island of fishermen, Burano has been famous from the 16th century with the art of lace : while their men were busy throwing their nets on the lagoon, the women would sit down on their doorstep, nimbly lacing their cotton thread. This photo has been viewed 1295 times
